Describes motivation process for creativity with emphasis on intrinsic motivation by Corey K Katir

One of them pulled off the race track with a flat tire before he even reached the green flag. One of them wasn’t supposed to compete in the event. And yet A.J. Allmendinger and Bobby Labonte found themselves in the Sprint All-Star Race on Saturday night, though they took very different routes to get there.

Admittedly, Sprint Cup drivers haven’t raced in heavy traffic since NASCAR mandated shorter side skirts for the cars, but in the All-Star Race practice and qualifying Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, most drivers felt little or no difference in the way their cars performed.

Bobby Labonte has won the 2012 Sprint Fan Vote and is in the field for the Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch and his crew had all three elements necessary to win the pole for Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star Race — speed on the race track, speed on and off pit road and speed from the pit crew during the mandatory green-flag stop at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Sprint has announced the launch of a new “speech to speech” (STS) service that makes it easier for those with speech disabilities to place calls through an operator assistant. The My Wireless STS service allows users to just dial *787 on their phone to place an operator assisted call. The operator works as a middle man, patiently listening to the words spoken by the customer and relaying them to the person on the receiving end of the call, repeating and clarifying when needed. The free service is available to users 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Earlier this month, Google enabled carrier billing in the Google Play Store for purchased content such as books, music, and movies for T-Mobile and AT&T customers. As of today, Sprint customers can enjoy the same privilege, as the default option for Google Play purchases is now set to bill directly to a user’s Sprint bill. That leaves Verizon Wireless as the only major carrier in the U.S. to not support the new Google Play Store carrier billing features.

HTC has confirmed that the U.S. Customs review of the EVO 4G LTE smartphone will indeed delay the launch of the device on Sprint, which was due to happen this Friday, May 18. It is not clear how long the review will take, or when the device arrive on store shelves. Sprint has removed the original launch date from the promo page on its website for the EVO 4G LTE. Customs officials are holding up shipments of the EVO 4G LTE and the One X into the U.S. while they investigate whether or not the smartphones infringe upon Apple’s patents.

The HTC EVO 4G LTE is the latest smartphone to carry Sprint’s EVO nameplate. Does it live up to its storied heritage, or does the fact that Sprint has yet to launch its 4G LTE network really hold it back?

Late last month, Samsung released a list of smartphones and tablets in the U.S. that it plans to upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. While the company laid out plans for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless devices, it did not name any for T-Mobile, stating that it was still working with the carrier to determine the upgrade paths. Now the list has been updated to include T-Mobile’s version of the Galaxy S II, the Galaxy S Blaze 4G, as well as the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Unfortunately, we still don’t know exactly when these updates will arrive, but at least owners can rest easy knowing their upgrades are coming at some point.

Voyager Mobile, a new MVNO that uses Sprint’s 3G CDMA and 4G WiMAX networks, was due to launch today, but it doesn’t seem like that will happen thanks to some aggressive hackers. The company released a statement this morning claiming that its main website has undergone a “malicious” attack that has caused it to postpone today’s planned launch.

T-Mo delays HTC Amaze 4G online orders due to 'unforeseen issue,' has other recommendations

Hot off the heels of the One X and EVO 4G LTE spending some prolonged time at customs, now another member of HTC’s sensational family appears to be feeling the rigorous effects of the ITC. According to a recent email acquired by TmoNews, it looks as if the Magenta carrier is delaying shipments of the HTC Amaze 4G in the US, saying it’s facing “an unforeseen issue with receiving the product from the manufacturer,” and that it doesn’t know when the handset will be up for grabs again. What’s also interesting here, however, is T-Mobile going as far as recommending Sammy’s Galaxy S Blaze 4G as a substitute — which, let’s face it, can’t be good news for HTC. Here’s to hoping this all gets sorted out relatively soon. In the meantime, you can check out the aforementioned email in its entirety at the source below.

Sprint introduces My Wireless STS service to assist folks with speech disabilities

Sprint’s had text-to-speech services on devices like the Samsung Epic 4G for quite some time, and now, looking to build up on that, the company’s introducing its My Wireless STS feature. The new speech-to-speech service aims to help people with speech disabilities by giving them access to an operator-assisted line every day of the week and all year round. Folks wanting to use the My Wireless STS will have to dial *787 from their device, after which a Now Network rep will start a call and repeat every spoken word — or ones that are unclear — depending on users choice. Relay Director, Michael Ellis, says Sprint is “the first in the industry to bring this service to market,” and that the project was developed closely with the help of speech disabled communities. If you’re interested in learning more, there’s a mighty presser waiting on you just past the break.

Sprint is apparently looking to lure in more current iPhone owners that are fed up with the increasingly troublesome data caps on other carriers. Starting May 18th, iPhone users on AT&T and Verizon are encouraged to bring their device into a Sprint store to receive a $100 credit on a new iPhone 4S with an [...]

The single best selling Android phone on Sprint is the original HTC EVO. Since that device, Sprint has tried to re-capture the EVO effect with several devices, all from HTC. The HTC EVO Shift and the EVO 3D really didn’t do so great in comparison, but that hasn’t stopped HTC and Sprint from trying again. [...]
