CASIO RELEASES FLAGSHIP EXILIM WITH ADVANCED AUTO FEATURES AND RAPID SHUTTER

State-of-the-art Premium AUTO PRO takes beautiful pictures every time; shoots in as little as 0.27 seconds between photos

Las Vegas, NV January 9, 2012 – Casio America, Inc., today announced the release of the new EXILIM® EX-ZR200 compact digital camera. The new digital camera, boasting Casio’s new Rapid Shutter feature, makes it easier than ever to shoot beautiful pictures.

Casio is a pioneer in the digital camera market, and the new EX-ZR200 introduces a whole new world for compact digital cameras. As the new flagship model in the EXILIM lineup, the EX-ZR200 uses Casio’s own high-speed technology to achieve new heights in camera performance, effortlessly taking beautiful pictures at any time.

The camera also comes with Casio’s HDR-ART function, which creates impressive artistic images with nothing more than a press of the shutter button. The Blurred Background function processes images to make a soft background that accentuates the subject, and the manual shooting function gives users control over shooting parameters. As one expects from a flagship EXILIM camera, the EX-ZR200 delivers advanced ease of use that raises that bar for functionality in a compact digital camera.

Main Features of the EX-ZR200

EXILIM ENGINE HS with high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing
Premium AUTO PRO function produces beautiful photos with just a press of the shutter button

The Premium AUTO PRO function incorporates all the features of Premium AUTO mode-which automatically analyzes the shooting scene to choose the best settings and perform image processing-while making it even better. Premium AUTO PRO can now automatically combine images from high-speed continuous shooting according to shooting conditions, to create gorgeous photos. Users can easily take sophisticated photos at the press of the shutter button, thanks to the automatic activation of functions such as HDR technology for high-contrast conditions, High Speed Night Scene mode for night shots, and High Speed Anti Shake for high-power zoom shooting.

HDR technology faithfully reproduces images as they really appear

With Casio’s HDR technology, each press of the shutter button actually takes several shots at different exposures and instantly combines them into a single image with a high dynamic range. This minimizes over exposed or under exposed areas in the image, creating a photograph that captures all the rich tonal gradation of the scene just as it appears in real life. The HDR technology also reduces the blur caused by a subject’s movements during continuous shooting, leaving only beautifully crisp, clear photographs.

HDR-ART creates artistic photographs

The EX-ZR200 features Casio’s HDR-ART function for enabling anyone to create truly artistic photographs at the press of the shutter button, unlike anything possible with conventional cameras before. The function works by combining continuous shots with differing exposures and performing highly precise image analysis to locally change levels of contrast and color saturation. Users can select from three different processing levels of art effects. The HDR-ART function can also be applied to movies (only one level of art effect available), allowing them to produce dramatic movies from everyday scenes.

Blurred Background function lets users take impressive photographs like a single-lens reflex camera

Casio has employed its high-speed burst shooting technologies to create an original technique for processing the background scene of a shot like the soft blur effect attainable using a single-lens reflex camera, thereby accentuating the subject of the photo.

Scenes come alive in their full expansiveness with the Wide Shot function

The EX-ZR200 combines continuous shots taken with high-speed burst shooting when the user is moving the camera, enabling powerful super-wide-angle shots. Users can choose wide-angle shooting modes equivalent to 14 mm or 18 mm.

Casio’s Multi Frame SR Zoom maintains refined image quality to a maximum zoom of 25x

The wide-angle 24 mm, 12.5x optical zoom lens offers zoom performance equivalent to a maximum of 25x optical zoom with Casio’s Multi Frame SR Zoom, which actually combines a number of still images to maintain the image quality needed for high-resolution photography.

Users can enjoy producing high-resolution Full HD movies

The EX-ZR200 enables beautiful high-resolution Full HD movies. Even while shooting a movie, users can take still 16-megapixel high-resolution images with high-speed burst shooting using the Snapshot In Movie function, and can also use the optical zoom and continuous auto focus.

Mode dial for rapid access to shooting modes

The mode dial enables users to choose from 10 shooting modes, including scene modes and Premium AUTO PRO, Multi Frame SR Zoom and HDR modes.

The EX-ZR200 will be available in Black, White, Red and Blue and will ship in April for $379.99.

CASIO RELEASES FOUR STYLISH NEW EXILIM DIGITAL CAMERAS WITH ENTRY LEVEL PHOTOGRAPHERS IN MIND

High Performance Features Simplified with easy Mode and Premium Auto

Las Vegas, NV, January 9, 2012 – Casio America, Inc. and its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today announced the release of four new models to the EXILIM® family of digital cameras: the EX-ZS150, EX-ZS20, EX-ZS12, and EX-ZS6. These compact cameras feature a powerful zoom lens and 16.1 effective megapixels and provide high-performance features that are typically not available in entry level digital cameras.

The four new models have dedicated buttons for the basic digital camera operations of capturing, reviewing, and deleting images. They also feature the “easy Mode” interface, which clearly displays frequently used functions with large lettering and icons. By following instructions from the on-screen guide, users can take photos with the optimal photographic settings. Also, by merely pointing the camera at a subject, the new models automatically focus on the face of the subject or on the landscape. Once the focus frame turns green, the user just presses the shutter button, and a sharply focused image is captured. The new EXILIM cameras are designed to be easy for everyone to operate, even novices.

The EX-ZS150 is equipped with a 24mm wide-angle lens and a 12.5x optical zoom ready to capture any kind of scene, while the EX-ZS20 is equipped with a 26mm wide-angle lens and a 6x optical zoom in a slim, stainless-steel body. Both models come with Premium Auto mode, which automatically analyzes the shooting scene to choose the best settings and performs image processing. When set to Premium Auto mode, the cameras will automatically analyze the scene being photographed and simultaneously optimize settings for exposure, ISO, sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range, color balance, and level of noise reduction. Premium Auto mode will automatically distinguish night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset and can sense whether there is a person’s face in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. All images are analyzed pixel by pixel to apply different corrections depending on the subject. For example, if Premium Auto mode recognizes that the subject of the image is a person, it will automatically apply Makeup Mode, and will automatically apply Landscape Mode if it detects that the subject of the image is a landscape. For those who value simplicity and want to capture beautiful images with each press of the shutter, Casio’s Premium Auto is the mode to use.

Meanwhile, the EX-ZS12 and EX-ZS6 are equipped with a 26mm wide-angle lens and a 5x optical zoom. The EX-ZS12 features a slim, stainless-steel body for a high-quality look.

“Casio’s latest introductions continue to offer today’s consumers the very best digital imaging has to offer,” said Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio America. “With their high-performance features and array of shooting modes, these new cameras will deliver an overall digital imaging experience that’s far from entry-level.”

All four models come in a wide variety of colors and offer BEST SHOT Mode, which optimizes photo settings when the user selects the type of scene about to be photographed. Every BEST SHOT Mode was designed to help users capture the best images possible of a wide range of subjects in just about any environment. Users will also benefit from helpful images and descriptions which accompany each mode and give a detailed explanation of when to use them and what each will provide in regard to results. The new EXILIM models also offer a self-portrait function that automatically takes a beautiful shot when the camera detects the user’s face and focuses on it. What’s more is that each camera is also capable of HD movie recording (1280 x 720) for stunning clips.

In addition, the cameras feature a 2.7-inch LCD screen as well as USB charging, which provides users the ability to recharge the battery in camera while connected to a computer.

The EX-ZS150 will be available in Black, Gold, Green and Vivid Pink and will ship in April for $229.99.
The EX-ZS20 will be available in Black, Silver, White, Pink, Red and Blue and will ship in April for $159.99.
The EX-ZS12 will be available in Black, Silver, Red and Blue and will ship in April for $139.99.

New EXILIM Compact Digital Camera with More Advanced Shooting Functions

Enjoy Ease of Use with Start-Up Time of 0.99 Seconds and Time Between Photos as Short as 0.29 Seconds

Las Vegas, NV January 9, 2012 – Casio America, Inc., today announced the release of the EX-ZR15, a new addition to the EXILIM lineup of digital cameras. This new model is equipped with an array of shooting functions that set it apart from conventional compact digital cameras, including super-wide-angle shooting and a background blur function that makes the most of Casio’s original high-speed technologies.

The EX-ZR15 is powered by the EXILIM ENGINE HS, a high-performance engine that combines high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing. Further leveraging Casio’s high-speed technologies, the new EX-ZR15 compact digital camera significantly improves on operability and functionality. The new model boasts a start-up time of 0.99 seconds, 0.13-second high-speed auto focus, and time between photos as short as 0.29 seconds. The EX-ZR15 allows users to experience the pleasure of continuous shooting so no important moments are missed, even when using shooting modes that apply complex image processing needed for difficult scenarios, such as the HDR and HS night scene modes.

While the EX-ZR15 is a very compact digital camera, it is loaded with an array of powerful functions that make picture-taking even more fun, including a background blur effect that accentuates the subject and softens the background, and the new Wide Shot function that lets users create impressive super-wide-angle shots by panning the camera (equivalent to 17-mm wide-angle when converted to 35mm film format). Furthermore, the EX-ZR15 is equipped with a more advanced HDR-ART function that can create artistic images. The improved function now enables users to produce dramatic movies from everyday scenes.

Main Features of the EX-ZR15

EXILIM ENGINE HS with high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing

The EX-ZR15 incorporates the EXILIM ENGINE HS for high-speed shooting and high-speed processing. In addition to a multiple CPU and dual image processing circuits, the camera is equipped with a reconfigurable processor that delivers functional and performance flexibility plus high-speed processing based on Casio’s latest technologies. The EXILIM ENGINE HS also achieves functions that were simply impossible before, such as HDR-ART, which creates artistic photographs, and enables simultaneous movie and continuous still image shooting.

HDR technology faithfully reproduces images as they really appear

With Casio’s HDR technology, each press of the shutter button actually takes several shots at different exposures and instantly combines them into a single image with a wide dynamic range. This minimizes washed out or overly dark areas, creating a photograph that captures all the rich tonal gradation of the scene just as it appears in real life. The HDR technology also reduces the blur caused by a subject’s movements during continuous shooting, leaving only beautifully crisp, clear photographs.

HDR-ART function for creating artistic photographs is now available for shooting movies

The EX-ZR15 features Casio’s HDR-ART function for enabling anyone to create truly artistic photographs* at the press of the shutter button, unlike anything possible with conventional cameras before. The function works by combining continuous shots with differing exposures and performing highly precise image analysis to locally change levels of contrast and color saturation. Users can select from three different processing levels of art effects. The HDR-ART function can also be applied to movies shot by the user, allowing them to produce dramatic movies from everyday scenes.

Background blur function lets users take impressive photographs like a single-lens reflex camera

Casio has employed its high-speed burst shooting technologies to create an original technique for processing the background scene of a shot like the soft blur effect attainable using a single-lens reflex camera, thereby accentuating the subject of the photo.

Scenes come alive in their full expansiveness with the Wide Shot function

The EX-ZR15 combines continuous shots taken with high-speed burst shooting when the user is moving the camera, enabling powerful super-wide-angle shots. Users can choose wide-angle shooting modes equivalent to 17 mm or 21 mm.

Casio’s Multi Frame SR Zoom maintains refined image quality to a maximum zoom of 14x

The wide-angle 28 mm, 7.0x optical zoom lens offers zoom performance equivalent to a maximum of 14x optical zoom with Casio’s Multi Frame SR Zoom, which actually combines a number of still images to maintain the image quality needed for high-resolution photography.

Slide Panorama captures 360-degree panoramic image

The EX-ZR15’s high-speed burst shooting and automatic composite image functions allow users to create natural-looking panoramic images just by panning the camera across a scene.

Users can enjoy producing high-resolution Full HD movies

The EX-ZR15 enables beautiful high-resolution Full HD movies. Even while shooting a movie, users can take still 16-megapixel high-resolution images with high-speed burst shooting using the Still In Movie function, and can also use the optical zoom and continuous auto focus.

Premium Auto function produces beautiful photos with just a press of the shutter button

Premium Auto enables the camera to automatically analyze the scene being photographed – including distinguishing night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset – as well as sensing any human faces in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. It simultaneously optimizes settings for exposure, ISO sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range and color balance, and level of noise reduction. Images are analyzed pixel by pixel to apply different correction to people and backgrounds. Premium Auto delivers an advanced level of full auto photography, ensuring high quality photos with just a press of the shutter button.

CASIO LEVERAGES CES 2011 TO USHER IN NEW ERA IN DIGITAL IMAGING

The Casio TRYX® Boasts Radically New Form Factor and Raises Bar for Style and Innovation

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 5, 2011 ― Casio America, Inc. and its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today unveiled TRYX®, a revolutionary new camera that will allow consumers to stand out and be noticed. Strikingly different than any other camera or camcorder on the market today, TRYX impresses with a distinctive, variable frame design which knows no bounds. With TRYX, consumers can do more and be prepared to capture their photographic lives in ways they were never able to before.

“TRYX truly is a remarkable camera and its announcement is a defining moment for Casio,” said Toshi Iguchi, Senior General Manager, Digital Imaging Division, Casio America Inc. “Unlike anything the industry has ever seen, TRYX brings unparalleled innovation and versatility straight to consumers’ hands with a radical new design. This is a camera which was designed specifically to meet the needs of the creative and connected consumer, looking for a unique digital imaging experience and a camera to compliment their lifestyle and personality.”

Tricked-Out Design
Thanks to its super thin (.59-inches thick), variable frame design, TRYX can adapt to fit the user’s preferred shooting style or to help them capture an image from just about any angle or in any environment. Users can hold the camera horizontally, in a traditional point-and-shoot style to capture still images or flip out the rotating, three-inch, touch-screen LCD and swivel the body to experience countless other positions. The frame rotates 360-degrees and can be adjusted so that the body can act as a tripod, allowing TRYX to stand on its own, or the LCD screen can be rotated up to 270-degrees so that users can perfect their own self portrait and see themselves in the frame. Users can even flip out and rotate the body so that the camera can hang from a hook, doorknob or other surface. The Casio TRYX’s body can also be adjusted so that users can record full-HD, 1080 video (30fps) with the traditional feel of a dedicated camcorder, either in a left‑ or right-handed grip or use it vertically, like a pocket camcorder.

High-Speed and High-Performance
In addition to its good looks, the Casio TRYX also boasts an equally impressive feature set. At the heart of the camera is a 12.1 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor which will help capture stunning images thanks to its enhanced sensitivity and low-light performance. The TRYX’s CMOS sensor is also coupled with dual core processors as well as Casio’s state‑of‑the‑art  EXILIM® ENGINE HS, which add significant processing speed and enhance the overall imaging experience. Together, they power many of the camera’s unique creative functions, including High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging, High-Speed SR Zoom, and slow‑motion video.

Expressing One’s Creativity
TRYX is fully-loaded and packed to the brim with a full range of functions, such as Slide Panorama and slow-motion video recording, which users can take advantage of to boost their creativity and truly express themselves through images. With Slide Panorama, users can effortlessly capture 360-degree panoramic images, and with slow-motion video, users can record events that are ordinarily too fast for the eye to see, at speeds up to 240 fps (432×320). TRYX also incorporates Casio’s revolutionary HDR-ART technology, which gives users the ability to effortlessly transform any photo from ordinary to extraordinary, all with just the touch of a button. HDR-ART works by combining continuous shots with differing exposures and performing highly-precise image analysis to locally change the contrast and level of color saturation. Users can select from three different processing levels to suit their artistic tastes and produce results that are guaranteed to impress.

Empowering the Fingertip
Housed within TRYX’s rotating, three-inch LCD screen (460K pixels / 3:2 aspect ratio) is the camera’s intuitive touch-screen interface which puts all camera controls right at the user’s fingertip. Through the touch-screen LCD, users can activate TRYX’s touch-shutter, which can focus on an area or subject in the frame and capture the photo, just by touching the screen. TRYX’s advanced self-timer can also be activated using the touch-screen LCD. Featuring a clever little twist, the self-timer can be triggered using the camera’s built-in motion sensor. Users can configure the self-timer using their finger to designate an area in the frame on the LCD where TRYX needs to monitor for motion. When motion is detected in the specified area, the self-timer will be triggered, enabling users to take pictures of themselves or allowing them time to get in the photo with a group of friends after placing the camera in just about any location, whether it be hanging it from a wall or setting it on a tabletop.

Ultra-Wide Angle Lens Makes it Easy
Taking a self-portrait, group shot, or an image of a landscape is typically a hassle with a standard lens and narrow focal length. With a standard lens, consumers are forced to sacrifice what they can actually capture, as they can’t fit exactly what they want in the frame. That’s no longer an issue with TRYX, as the camera offers an impressive, ultra-wide-angle, 21mm lens. With such a wide-angle lens, users can fit more of their desired scene into the frame, ensuring that they’ll be able to capture their own image as well as the background they’re in front of, or even a large group of family and friends.

TRYX’s 21mm ultra-wide-angle lens is also outfitted with Casio’s state-of-the-art High-Speed SR Zoom technology. Significantly more advanced than traditional digital zooms, High-Speed SR Zoom captures multiple still images at high-speed and combines them to produce sharp and clear photos. Image quality can be maintained up to two times the range of the focal length.

Social Media Simplified
Casio also preloaded the TRYX with software that facilitates the uploading of images and video directly to the Internet, including many of today’s most popular social networking platforms such as Facebook, Flickr and YouTube. Users can simply select which photos and videos they would like uploaded from the camera beforehand, and upon connecting it to a computer, the files will automatically be sent to each specified destination.

The Casio TRYX will be available April 2011 for $249.99.

CASIO ANNOUNCES NEW FLAGSHIP CAMERA FOR ITS EXILIM LINEUP

Revolutionary New EX-ZR100 Takes High-Speed Processing and Shooting to the Next Level

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 5, 2011 ― Casio America, Inc. and its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today unveiled the 12.1 megapixel EX-ZR100, the new flagship model for the company’s popular EXILIM® family of digital cameras. Blazingly fast, the EX-ZR100 is powered by Casio’s new EXILIM ENGINE HS with dual core processors, which work together to offer consumers a high-speed shooting experience unlike any other. From high-speed image processing to slow-motion video recording, the next generation EXILIM EX-ZR100 represents a dramatic advancement beyond today’s traditional digital cameras. Also joining the EX-ZR100 is the EX-ZR10. Announced at the 2010 Photokina Expo, the EX-ZR10 is the younger sibling of the more advanced EX-ZR100, and will begin shipping in January 2011.

“Casio is continuously pushing the envelope for what’s possible when it comes to digital cameras, and nothing embodies that approach more than the new EX-ZR100,” said Toshi Iguchi, Senior General Manager, Digital Imaging Division, Casio America Inc. “The EX-ZR100 combines our most advanced imaging technologies and is indicative of the level of innovation that consumers can expect from Casio. This is a camera that we’re proud to call our flagship model for 2011.”

High-Speed Processing Power
The EX-ZR100 incorporates a 12.1 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor which will help users capture high-resolution, low-noise images even in dimly lit environments. The camera also features sensor-shift image stabilization to help reduce the blur associated with hand movement for even better results. The sensor-shift stabilization technology also allows users to capture impressive 1920×1080 full-HD video at 30 frames-per-second (fps) with continuous auto focus. In addition, the EX-ZR100 features a built-in stereo microphone, and even offers users the ability to leverage the camera’s full optical zoom and capture digital still images with high-speed burst shooting (10 megapixel), all while recording video. The camera’s high-performance CMOS sensor is complimented even further by Casio’s advanced EXILIM ENGINE HS with dual core processors, which further enhance the digital imaging experience for consumers. Together, the EXILIM ENGINE HS with dual core processors drive the high-speed capabilities of the EX-ZR100 and are responsible for the camera’s industry leading, .37 second shot-to-shot time, slow-motion video recording as well as

high-speed burst shooting. With burst shooting, consumers can capture 30 10 megapixel images at a maximum speed of 40 shots per second. Adding even more versatility, the EX-ZR100’s Pre‑record Continuous Shutter will begin pre-recording images when the shutter button is pressed halfway, ensuring users will not miss a single critical moment even if they’re a little late in snapping the photo. All photos and video can be reviewed on the camera’s high-resolution three-inch LCD (460k).

Getting Creative
The new EX-ZR100 encompasses a number of unique shooting modes, such as slow-motion video recording, Slide Panorama, and Casio’s HDR-ART technology, which consumers can use to build on their creativity and better express themselves through images. With slow-motion, users can record fast-action events at a maximum speed of 1,000fps (224×64), revealing detail that’s simply too fast for the naked eye to see. Additional high-speed frame rates include 480fps (224×160) and 240fps (432×320).

With Casio’s HDR technology, each press of the shutter button actually takes several shots with different exposures and instantly combines them into a single image with a high dynamic range. This ensures that both light and dark areas are clearly visible in the photograph and that washed out or overly dark areas are minimized. The HDR-ART function uses this HDR technology to create beautifully artistic photographs. It locally controls the contrast and the level of color saturation of the analyzed subject, and achieves the kind of awe-inspiring effects that used to be possible only using dedicated software, all with just one press of the shutter button. The effects of the HDR-ART function can be set at three different processing levels, so now anyone can easily create dramatic, eye-catching HDR images that suit their artistic tastes and are sure to impress.

Users can also get creative with Slide Panorama, which will give them the ability to pan the EX‑ZR100 across a scene, such as an expansive landscape, to capture 360-degree images. Unique about Casio’s Slide Panorama is the fact that the function can detect moving subjects or peoples’ faces and will not use these subjects for the combined points. This makes it easy to take more natural panoramic images. The EX-ZR100 also makes using the camera fun thanks to its Dynamic Photo function. With Dynamic Photo, users can combine moving characters preloaded to the camera’s memory, with a still image or movie background of their choice.

Optics That Pack a Punch
Casio’s new flagship EXILIM model doesn’t fail to impress thanks to a robust lens that boasts a powerful 12.5x optical zoom and a focal length of 24mm-300mm (35mm film equivalent). Packed within a compact body that measures under an inch thick (0.95-inches), the ultra‑wide‑angle and telephoto capabilities of the EX-ZR100’s lens will allow users to fit more into the frame or get in close, no matter how near or far they may be. Furthermore, Casio greatly enhances the 12.5x optical zoom of the EX-ZR100 with its Multi Frame SR Zoom technology, which doubles the camera’s zoom to achieve a zoom that’s equivalent to a 25x optical zoom. Far more advanced than traditional digital zooms found on today’s digital cameras, Multi Frame SR Zoom leverages the high-speed processing power of the EXILIM ENGINE HS to capture and combine several images at once to produce a final photo with no loss of image quality.

CASIO EXTENDS EXILIM® HI-ZOOM RANGE OF CAMERAS WITH THE EX-H30

H30 Offers 24mm, 12.5x Optical Zoom Lens and Can Take 1,000 Photos on a Single Charge*

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 5, 2011 ― Casio America, Inc. and its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today added even more depth to its popular EXILIM® family of digital cameras with the announcement of the 16.1 megapixel EX-H30. With an impressive 24mm, ultra-wide-angle, 12.5x optical zoom lens as well as the ability to capture up to 1,000 photos on a single battery charge (*in accordance with Camera & Imaging Products Association standards), the new EX‑H30 offers the versatility that today’s travelers are looking for in a compact digital camera.

“Optics and battery performance are two qualities which should be top of mind for any consumer in the market for a camera to take with them while traveling or on vacation, and the new H30 excels in both areas,” said Toshi Iguchi, Senior General Manager, Digital Imaging Division, Casio America Inc. “Whether you’re near or far, the H30’s powerful zoom and ultra-wide angle lens will help you capture the image you want, while the camera’s exceptional battery performance will allow you to focus on capturing those memories rather than worrying about running out of power or the need to recharge.”

Battery Performance When it Counts
Thanks to Casio’s industry-leading, energy-saving technologies and a high-capacity, rechargeable lithium ion battery (NP-130), the new EX-H30 outperforms the competition when it comes to battery life. With one full charge of the battery, consumers can head out for the day, or in some cases, even the week, and document their travels knowing that they’ll have the ability to snap at least 1,000 photos.

Extending the Range
With a powerful 24mm-300mm (35mm equivalent) focal length, the EX-H30’s optics are sure to impress; however, that range can be further extended with no loss in image quality by leveraging Casio’s Single Frame SR Zoom. With Single Frame SR Zoom, users can extend the maximum telephoto range by 1.5x, putting an effective zoom of 18.8x right in the palm of their hand and in a camera body measuring under an inch thick (.95-inches). The ultra‑wide angle capabilities of the EX-H30 are also enhanced with Casio’s Slide Panorama technology, which will allow users

to capture natural panoramic images. Furthermore, when panning across the scene, Slide Panorama will automatically recognize moving subjects, and will omit them from the combined points of the final image (maximum of 240-degree panning).

High-Resolution Images and Video
The new EX-H30 couples a high-performance, 16.1 megapixel CCD with Casio’s sensor-shift technology to produce beautiful images with stunning detail. Moreover, the advanced image processing capability provided by Casio’s EXILIM ENGINE 5.0 ensures that color reproduction is clear and bright, and that images have a rich tonal gradation.  The new EX-H30 also boasts Casio’s super-resolution technology which will analyze and optimally process the respective areas of the photo that are contoured, textured with a detailed pattern, or flat, to deliver photos of exceptional quality and resolution.

In addition to high-resolution still images, the EX-H30 also offers 720p high-definition video recording with continuous auto-focus. While recording video, users can also take advantage of the camera’s full optical zoom so that they capture the action no matter how far away they are. All images and video can be reviewed right on the camera’s large, three-inch LCD display (460k).

Options for the Enthusiast or Beginner
For the enthusiast shooter looking for more control, Casio includes manual shooting modes on the new EX-H30, such as Shutter Priority and Aperture Priority. For those who value simplicity and want to capture beautiful images with each press of the shutter, Casio’s Premium Auto is the mode to use. When set to Premium Auto, the EX-H30 will automatically analyze the scene being photographed and simultaneously optimize settings for exposure, ISO, sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range, color balance, and level of noise reduction.

Premium Auto will automatically distinguish night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset and can sense whether there is a person’s face in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. All images are analyzed pixel by pixel to apply different corrections depending on the subject. For example, if Premium Auto recognizes that the subject of the image is a person, it will automatically apply Makeup Mode, and will automatically apply Landscape Mode if it detects that the subject of the image is a landscape.

Useful for travelers is the EX-H30’s Silent Mode. Users can set the EX-H30 to Silent Mode instantly, which will prevent the camera from emitting any sound or flash, so as to not disturb those around you. Users can also get creative and have a little fun with their images using the EX-H30’s Dynamic Photo function. With Dynamic Photo, users can combine moving characters preloaded to the camera’s memory, with a still image or movie background of their choice.

The Casio EX-H30 will be available in four colors, including sliver, black, red, and gold, and will ship in March 2011 for $249.99.

* In accordance with Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) standards: Temperature 23°C, LCD screen on, alternating between wide angle and telephoto zoom every 30 seconds, flash usage once every two shots, and powering on and off after every tenth shot.

Casio releases Compact EXILIM Camera with Hybrid GPS

World’s First Camera Combining GPS with Motion-Sensor Driven Autonomic Positioning, the EX-H20G tracks user’s location and displays where photos have been taken on a map

September 20, 2010 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today announced the latest edition to the EXILIM Hi-Zoom line-up of compact digital cameras with a high-power optical zoom lens—the EX-H20G. Perfect for travelling, the EX-H20G employs Casio’s unique Hybrid GPS system which can track a user’s position against map data stored in the camera’s internal memory. This, when combined with Casio’s original low power consumption technology, means the EX-H20G is ideal for people capturing their memories on the move.

A digital camera first, the EX-H20G can track a user’s position even while indoors. This is due to the Hybrid GPS system which combines a GPS engine with autonomic positioning made possible by a motion sensor. This enables users to take a photo with position information no matter where they are, displaying the user’s location and the photos and movies taken at any place on a map on the screen.

In addition to these features, the camera is pre-loaded with world atlas data and information on about 10,000 sightseeing photo spots around the globe, dramatically changing how people use their digital camera when travelling. The EX-H20G allows users to plan travel while viewing destinations on the on-screen map before departing, and then to confirm their present location, planned destinations, photo locations, photo angles, and route travelled on the map during their trip. After returning home, users can upload their photos to network services which offer location data such as Picasa and Google Earth, clearly displaying the locations visited and the photos taken at each. By integrating camera and map as well as location data and photos, this camera creates a whole new way to make the most of you travels.

Equipped with the new EXILIM Engine HS, the EX-H20G features all of the essential capabilities expected from a camera. When used with Casio’s Single Frame SR Zoom function, the wide-angle 24mm optical 10x zoom lens actually offers a 15X zoom range that maintains the image quality needed for 14.1-megapixel high-resolution photography. This represents 1.5 times the range of the optical zoom, with virtually no loss in quality. Other features include a three-inch, high-resolution 460K super clear LCD that is easy to view even when outdoors. Casio Releases New High-Speed EXILIM Camera with Slide Panorama feature

Quality Driven by New EXILIM ENGINE HS
Offering the Fun of Creating and Displaying Digital Art

September 20, 2010 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the newest model in the EXILIM range of digital cameras – the EX-ZR10. Powered by the new EXILIM ENGINE HS that integrates high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing, the EX-ZR10 creates amazingly artistic photographs using Casio’s high dynamic range (HDR) technology. This next-generation high-speed camera represents a dramatic advancement beyond existing digital cameras.

The wide-angle 28 mm 7X optical zoom lens achieves zoom performance equivalent to 14X optical zoom with Casio’s Multi Frame SR Zoom, which actually combines a number of still images to create a sharp, clear photo. In addition, the dual image processing circuits built into the new engine dramatically reduce the interval between shots, and ultra-high speed burst shooting captures crucial moments at a maximum speed of 40 shots per second. These functions make sure you’ll never miss a shot.

The EX-ZR10 comes with the new EXILIM ENGINE HS and a high-sensitivity, 12-megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Its high-speed burst shooting brings a professional touch to basic camera functions like shooting, viewing and recording. The high speed engine enables the user to record high precision videos and detailed continuous shooting with the support of its multiple CPU’s, a reconfigurable processor, and dual image processing circuits.

With Casio’s HDR technology, several exposures will be combined to create a single sharp image at the press of a button. This ensures that both light and dark areas are clearly visible in the photograph and minimises washed out or overly dark areas.

The wide range of shooting options also includes Premium Auto which takes beautiful photos with just a press of the button, and Slide Panorama that allows users to easily capture 360-degree panoramic images. The camera also offers a full range of movie functions. In addition to high-speed movie recording at up to 480 fps for slow motion movies, the EX-ZR10 also takes full HD movies (H.264). While shooting a movie, users can also capture still images with the optical zoom and burst shooting function.

EXILIM EX-ZR10 Features

New EXILIM ENGINE HS with high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing
The EX-ZR10 incorporates the newly developed EXILIM ENGINE HS for high-speed shooting and high-speed processing. Equipped with multiple CPUs, a reconfigurable processor, and dual image processing circuits, the engine can handle parallel operations such as movies and continuous shooting in a way that was impossible before. Further, the compositing function using high precision image analysis and processing records highly detailed images without losing any of the fine texture with high speed.

HDR technology accurately represents living colour
With Casio’s HS HDR technology, each press of the button actually takes several shots with different exposures and instantly combines them into a single image with a high dynamic range. This ensures that both light and dark areas are vividly reproduced in the photograph, minimising washed out or overly dark areas, reproducing the scene just as seen by the human eye. The EX-ZR10 uses algorithms that expand the dynamic range while maintaining sharpness, even when shooting subjects in strong contrast situations.

HDR ART creates artistic photographs
HDR ART combines continuous shots with differing brightness, performing high precision image analysis to locally change the contrast and the level of colour saturation. This allows users to create truly artistic photographs radically different than anything possible on conventional digital cameras.

Zoom up to 14X while maintaining refined image quality
The wide-angle 28 mm 7X optical zoom lens offers zoom performance equivalent to a maximum of 14X optical zoom while maintaining the image quality needed for high-resolution photography. This is achieved using multi-frame super-resolution technology which makes a composite image.

Ultra-high speed burst shooting captures crucial moments at a speed of 40 shots per second
The EX-ZR10 can take up to 30 shots of 10 megapixel high-resolution images with high-speed burst shooting at a maximum speed of 40 shots per second. What is more, if the camera is set to Prerecord Continuous Shutter, users will not miss a single critical moment even if they press the shutter a little late, since the camera starts shooting when the shutter button is only depressed halfway.

High-sensitivity, 12-megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor
The EX-ZR10 uses a back-illuminated CMOS sensor. With 12-megapixel, high-resolution images, the EX-ZR10 achieves low-noise, high-quality photography even in dim lighting. The model also comes with CMOS-shift image stabilisation.

Premium Auto produces beautiful photos with just a press of a button
Premium Auto enables the camera to automatically analyse the scene being photographed — including distinguishing night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset — as well as sensing whether there is a face in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. It simultaneously optimises settings for exposure, ISO, sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range and colour balance, and level of noise reduction. Images are analysed pixel by pixel to apply different correction to people and backgrounds. Premium Auto delivers an advanced level of full auto photography, ensuring high quality photos with just a press of the button

Slide Panorama for capturing 360-degree panoramic images
This function makes it easy to take panoramic images, simply by panning the camera across the scene with the shutter button pressed.

High-speed movie recording at up to 480 fps for dramatic, ultra-slow motion movies
The EX-ZR10 can record high-speed movies of motion that is ordinarily too fast for the human eye to see (480 fps, 240 fps, 30-240 fps,).

Beautiful high-resolution full HD movies
The Full HD Movie function records beautiful videos at a size of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. While shooting a movie, users can also quickly capture still images with the Still In Movie function which uses the optical zoom and continuous auto focus.

Other features include the highly-regarded Premium Auto function, which automatically produces beautiful photos with just a press of the shutter button.

The EXILIM Card EX-S200 is a slim, high-quality, card-sized camera that is just 17.8 mm thick and only 14.9 mm at its thinnest part, while the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z800 is compact enough to fit in the palm of the hand. Both cameras sport a 4X optical zoom lens that starts at a 27 mm wide-angle view (35 mm film camera equivalent) and is capable of taking images with an effective resolution of 14.1 megapixels, while packing numerous other camera features such as Casio’s CCD-shift image stabilization mechanism in a slim, compact and stylish body.

EXILIM EX-S200 Ultra-Slim Digital Card Camera
The EX-S200 uses a flat lens barrel and lens ring to achieve a thin and stylish card-sized body that smoothly combines contrasting geometric shapes. The camera was designed with an emphasis on functionality and simplicity, achieving a design that is at once elegant and understated. The EX-S200 comes in five different colors: silver, orange, blue, black, and pink. The Quick Mode function powers on the camera with a press of the shutter button, previews a photo after shooting, and automatically powers down. Combined with the portability of the card-sized body, Quick Mode ensures that the user will never miss a photo opportunity.

EXILIM EX-Z800 Compact Digital Camera — Small Enough to Fit in the Palm of the Hand
The lens, LCD monitor and buttons of the EX-Z800 are flat to achieve a compact body that fits the contours of the hand. The EX-Z800 comes in six different colors, ranging from basic black and silver to vivid pink, red, yellow, and blue. The polished finish of the camera gives it an elegant yet dynamic look. The camera features dedicated Shoot, View and Delete buttons that provide access to each of the basic operations of a digital camera, so that even beginners will find the digital camera easy to use.

Casio’s unique Dynamic Photo function creates composite moving images, making it possible to have multiple characters moving independently of each other against a background of moving images up to as long as 20 seconds. The Art Conversion function takes saved images and makes them look like artwork. These features make it possible to enjoy photos in a way that is only possible with a Casio digital camera.EX-S200/EX-Z800 Features
Super Resolution Shot delivers images with exceptional clarity and resolution
Both cameras use super-resolution technology to analyze and optimally process the respective areas of the photo that are contoured, textured or flat, delivering photos of exceptional quality and resolution.

Super Resolution Digital Zoom extends the maximum telephoto range of the optical zoom
The two cameras use super resolution technology to respectively enhance edges, flat areas and textures when enlarging images, by analyzing and adjusting the contours in images and the relief of the subject. The Super Resolution Digital Zoom extends the maximum telephoto range of the optical zoom up to 1.5 times, while reducing image quality degradation. Both the EX-S200 and EX-Z800 offer an optical equivalent 6X zoom range that maintains image quality for 14.1-megapixel high-resolution photography when using the optical zoom with the Super-Resolution Digital Zoom.

Premium Auto function produces beautiful photos with just a press of the shutter button
Premium Auto enables the camera to automatically analyze the scene being photographed — including distinguishing night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset — as well as sensing whether there is a face in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. It simultaneously optimizes settings for exposure, ISO, sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range and color balance, and level of noise reduction. Images are analyzed pixel by pixel to apply different correction to people and backgrounds. Premium Auto delivers an advanced level of full auto photography, ensuring high quality photos with just a press of the shutter button.

Dynamic Photo function for creating composite moving images
These cameras offer Casio’s original Dynamic Photo function, which makes it easy for users to create “moving photos” right on the camera by cutting moving subjects from the background in images taken with continuous shooting, and combining those images on a different still or moving image background. With Dynamic Photo on these cameras, it is possible to make multiple characters move independently of each other against a background of moving images up to as long as 20 seconds. These capabilities not only make it more fun to create images, but also offer the fun of sharing images by making it easy to upload images to YouTubeTM using the included software or post them to a blog.

Art Shot and Art Conversion functions create photos with the look of a painting
The Art Shot function makes use of the image processing technology in EXILIM Engine 5.0 to create photos of scenery or human subjects that have the look of an oil painting, crayon, or a water color. With the Art Conversion function, it is now possible to apply the same look as the Art Shot function to saved images.

Keep moments for eternity:
The new EXILIM EX-H5 and EXILIM EX-FH25 from CASIO

A compact hi-zoom model with 24 mm wide-angle and 10 x optical zoom as well as high-speed model with the new “high sensitivity CMOS sensor” and 20 x optical zoom

London, 31 May 2010 — Casio Electronics Co. Ltd presents two new models in the EXILIM product family. Moving scenes at a distance or difficult lighting conditions are a barrier to taking good photos for many cameras. But the perfect moment pays no attention to ideal photo conditions. The new EXILIM models successfully meet this challenge. Whereas the EX-H5 expands the successful segment of hi-zoom cameras at CASIO, the EX-FH25 combines the high-speed technology with the new “high sensitivity CMOS sensor” for high-speed photo and film sequences in a quality never seen before. Both digital cameras can also record HD videos in a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

EXILIM EX-H5 – hi-zoom for everyone
Thanks to a 24 mm wide-angle lens with 10 x optical zoom, mechanical image stabilizer using CCD shift technology and 12.1 effective megapixels, photographers are prepared for any scene with the
EX-H5. It is the ideal “tag along” camera as a result of its compact casing. No matter whether at family parties, out with friends or weekend trips – the EXILIM EX-H5 will capture all the great moments of life in high quality. The EXILIM EX-H5 also has a 6.9 cm (2.7 inch) TFT colour screen and such familiar functions as Landscape, Make-up or Art Short Mode as well as the new, improved Dynamic Photo function and numerous BEST SHOT scene programs.

The heart of the new digital camera is the EXILIM Engine 5.0 and this provides better quality in terms of colour brilliance, noise suppression and image editing. The camera responds to the photographer’s wishes extremely quickly and offers short on/off times, optimized shutter delays and an intelligent auto focus that detects the size and contours of all the scene objects in the shortest possible time and optimizes the focus.

EXILIM EX-FH25 – with the “high sensitivity CMOS sensor” for brilliant images
Bad light, dusk or darkness? No problem for the EXILIM EX-FH25. With the new “high sensitivity CMOS sensor” each individual scene is recorded in outstanding brilliance and clarity. As a result of much higher light sensitivity compared to traditional sensors and the reduction of noise at the same time images are recorded with brilliant colours, strong contrasts and sharp details even in poor lighting conditions.

With the 20 x optical zoom with a mechanical image stabilizer, a powerful 26 mm wide-angle lens and a resolution of 10.1 megapixels, users have complete freedom to select their scene. Wide-ranging landscapes, large-scale sights and romantic sunsets are captured just as easily as distant objects zoomed up close. Even at 20 x optical zoom, the CMOS shift image stabilization significantly reduces the risk of lack of focus from shaking.

The familiar high-speed series captures special moments with up to 30 photos per second and a resolution of 9 megapixels. And those who press the shutter a little too late no longer need to get annoyed: the pre-record mode starts the recording as soon as the shutter is half pressed.

With the aid of high-speed film recording with up to 1000 images per second, the EX-FH25 can capture fast movements that the human eye cannot see. The user can choose between different recording speeds.

Ambitious hobby photographers who mainly want to take photos of fast scenes from nature or sport will really love this camera. The EX-FH25 offers a range of BEST SHOT modes for high-speed photo and film series. For high-speed lighting, for example, the camera takes three photos in a fraction of a second and each one has different light settings. These three photos are then automatically combined to make a perfect image. Other BEST SHOT modes are the High-speed Anti Shake that makes photos that tend to be unfocused due to hand movements clear and sharp.

Whether the High-speed Night Mode for better photos in the dark and very poor lighting conditions – the risk of shaky images can be reduced, even without a tripod.

The compact EXILIM EX-H5 digital camera is now available in silver, black and red.
The EXILIM EX-FH25 is also available in black.
